Theme
Project Monitoring and Reporting Services for Financial Institutions / 3rd Party Funded or Sponsored Project Developments

Overview
Big scale new development projects often times infrastructure projects or large commercial developments or massive Housing schemes requiring large capital outlays obtained through loans (local or International) or sponsorships from other 3rd Parties (an International Development Agency,
Foreign Government etc.) can only be executed successfully with very stringent financial control measures.

The IFC, the African Development Bank, and other International Funding Organizations have made it mandatory that as part of their conditions for
funding any Development Programme there must be engaged on such project an independent Funder’s Representative to be selected and appointed by the funding organizations but paid for by the borrower.

The Central Bank of Nigeria has similarly adopted this financial control principles and have made it mandatory for all commercial banks not to rely
on the internal management staff but to engage an independent Project Funding Manager for every project financing transaction to be undertaken
by the Bank.

Professional Project Monitoring services (same as Funder’s Representative services) is a special and an advanced level of quantity surveying services –
Quantity Surveying being defined as the financial, contractual and administrative management of construction projects.

Project Monitoring is distinct from both project management and construction monitoring and can be defined as – “Protecting the Client’s interests by identifying and advising on the risks associated with acquiring an interest in a development that is not under the Client’s direct control.”
