The NIQS Young Quantity Surveyors Forum (hereinafter referred to as YQSF) was established as one of the National Bodies of the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NIQS). The formation took effect through article 6.8 after the second amendment of NIQS Constitution in March, 2015.
The Young Quantity Surveyors Forum was formally inaugurated on the 31st day of July, 2015 at Enugu State by the NEC (2013-2015) led by QS Murtala Aliyu, FNIQS, PPNIQS for the purpose of encouraging active participation of students studying Quantity Surveying and Young Quantity Surveyors (Graduates, Probationers and Corporate members below the ages of 35 years) in the institute’s activities and enhance capacity building of members. The council appointed the pioneer chairman of the steering committee.
The YQSF steering committee worked assiduously towards creating chapters in all states of the federation and the FCT. This feat was achieved in partnership with the National Association of Quantity Surveying Students (NAQSS) in various tertiary institutions. The forum organized interactive seminars, technical site visits, virtual and classroom training sessions and increased participation of Young QS at the chapter, national and international level.
To be a premier organization of young professionals in Nigeria, contributing to the growth of natural and built environment, and by extension the overall economy.
