2023-2025 National Executive Council Election: Call for Nominations

In line with Article 6.2.1 – 6.2.5 of the Constitution of Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors, 2015 (as amended) the underlisted National Executive Officers of the National Executive Council shall be elected during the 2023 Biennial Election General Meeting (BEGM) scheduled for Saturday 25th November, 2023 at Nicon Luxury Hotel, Abuja, Federal Capital Territory:

1. Deputy President
2. Vice President
3. Secretary General
4. Assistant Secretary General
5. Treasurer
6. Secretary, Professional Development and Library
7. Secretary, Marketing and Corporate Affairs
8. Secretary, International Affairs

Every interested member should kindly download, print and appropriately complete the Nomination Form into any office of his/her choice. It is pertinent to state that the Nominees, Nominators/Proposers and Agents must be corporate financial members of the Institute as at the time of filing the Nomination Form in addition to other requirements peculiar to the office being nominated for. (Please endeavour to read the First Schedule (Elections and Terms of Officers) of the NIQS Constitution (2nd amendment 2015).

Nominees are required to submit their profile, bio-data and comprehensive manifestos drawn up strictly in line with Articles 2.0 (Fundamental Objectives) of the NIQS Constitution (2nd Amendment 2015). Nominations are to be submitted to the Secretariat of the Institute, No. 24, NIQS Crescent, Off Michael Ama Nnachi Crescent, Cadastral Zone B6, Mabushi District– Abuja not later than 12.00 noon, Monday 25th September, 2023. All nominations shall be dropped into Three (3) points sealed box at the Secretariat. The box shall be opened by the Biennial Election Panel immediately after 12.00 on Monday 25th September, 2023.

Every member of the Institute (excluding Nominees, Nominators/Proposers and Agents whose financial status shall be determined as at the time of submitting the nomination Form) has not later than 13th October, 2023 to pay up at least all outstanding annual subscriptions. Thus, the financial status of every voting member shall be based on the Institute’s records as at close of business hours on 13th October, 2023. Payment reconciliation is absolutely outside the responsibility of the Election Panel hence we advise every voting member to endeavour to carry out appropriate payment reconciliation (where necessary) with the Institute’s Secretariat reasonably before the above stated date.
